Wild Animals

Topic: Wild Animals.

In this lesson we change the topic and it was the turn of T. Andrea and T. Juan José to performed their first lesson with children. First, T. Andrea gave the name tags to children while T. Juan was checking the attendance list. T presented the rules of the classroom such as go to the bathroom, and raise your hands. T presented and gave students a test for the previous unit of the family members. Teachers monitored students and explained the part of the quiz. When students finished the first part, teacher Juan explained the second one.Then, T . Juan told students to stand up and made a line. T divided the floor with circles black and yellow. Pupils had to jump to the different colors on the floor when the teacher mentioned it, but the learner who lost had to sit down.




 








Second, T started the presentation stage introducing the wild animals. The vocabulary was lion, panther,gorilla, elephant, giraffe, tiger , bear, and crocodile. T. asked students to repeat after him the words of the vocabulary. After, teacher gave learners a worksheet in which they had to cross a line to join the picture with the word. Teachers monitored the activity.




Third, T. Andrea asked students to make a line, and she gave them a mask of the different wild animals. T was asking pupils what animal they had , and they had to answer. Then, they had to change the mask with another classmate , and asked him who are you? and they had to answer I am______ saying the name of the animal that they had.Finally, T. gave learners a ball, and the student who had the ball when teacher said stop had , he had to said the name of the animal that teacher has in the mask.To conclude, I really like the materials like the mask. I consider the lesson meaningful and helpful to introduce learners with the new unit.

Warm up


After the students sit down at the desk with their names, teachers will provide the class’ rules. Then, students will receive a short exam from the previous unit. Next, the teacher is going to ask them to stand up and make a line, at the floor it will be paste circle black and yellow pages, so if the teacher says “black” the children should move to the black circle, and if he says “yellow” they have to move to the other side and so on. The one or ones who make a mistake have to sit down.

Presentation
The teacher will present the vocabulary with some disposable plates of the wild animals (Lion, elephant, tiger, giraffe, crocodile, bear, gorilla, and panther) The teacher will say that those animals we can find them on the jungle, if he choose the one that is a panther he could say “I´m a panther” and paste at the board with the corresponding label with the name. The children will be asked to pronounce the words and make sure if they understand the vocabulary presented.

The students will be received some worksheets in which they have to trace a line from the word to the correct picture that represents it. For example, if there is a picture of an elephant they should match with a line that word, if they have a question they could answer to any teacher to clarify.

Production

The teacher will say to the students that they could imagine that are in a jungle, so they have to stand up and make two lines to work with the one in front of them, then, they will receive the masks of the animals and must say the sentence mentioned at the presentation “I´m a _____” with the animal that they have. Finally, they will sit down and return the masks. The teachers are going to make an example before the students start.

Wrap up

Children are going to pass a ball provided by the teacher, if the teacher says “stop” and a student has it, he or she will have to say the animal that the teacher show with the mask, this activity will be repeated 3 times. After that, the children are going to receive a snack before they go.

Family Members (Reading)

Date: September 8, 2016

Topic: Family Members.


This was the reading lesson performed by T. Nelson and T. Cristian. First, T. Cristian started checking the attendance list. To start with the lesson, T. asked students to stand up and made a circle. T. explained the chant activity in which the chant was "If you are happy" the chant was paste on the board.Students sang , and they did the movements that the chant mentioned, and also, teachers change the steps of the chant three times. They were, clap your hands, stomp your feet, and say hello.











Second, T. Nelson introduced himself and T. Cristian. T. presented the vocabulary : smart, nice, and students repeated the pronunciation. T. gave students some words of the vocabulary, and they had to paste them on the board. T made students repeat the pronunciation. Then, T. gave a text to each student , and he asked them to see the pictures . T. Cristian paste words on the board like sport, school, and family. T. Nelson asked learners what was the reading about . T gave 4 minutes to read the text. Learners were asking what they had to do, and teachers clarified their doubts in a personalize way. T. said students that they had to complete the questions. Students were concentrated during this activity. Pupils were interested in the activity because they stand up and went where teachers were to made them questions of the reading activity.






Third, T. Nelson checked the questions. T. Cristian started to ask the answers, and he explained the other activity. T . gave 2 worksheet in which they had to complete. T. Nelson helped students to answer. T. showed an example of the activity.Finally, T. Nelson explained the game "pass the ball" Pupils passed it and the pupil who had it when teacher stopped counting had to point out the word of the vocabulary that teacher asked him. They did it three times. Then, they left the classroom and returned to their school. To conclude, I really like this lesson because pupils were focused on the reading activity which allows teachers achieve the purpose of the lesson.

Teacher will provide students the reading about “My family” and ask to check the information and pictures for 1 minute. After that, teacher will present 3 different titles and ask students to raise their hand if they think that is the correct heading for the text. The titles will be school, sports and family. Then teacher will ask students to read the complete text and monitor them. Once they’ve finished reading, they will answer the 3 questions about the text.

Family Members (listening)

It was the first time that classmates taught listening for children,for that reason, it was a challenge lesson. First, T. Charlie introduced himself and T. Guillermo. T. Charlie checked the attendance list , and T. Guillermo gave the name tags to the children, Teacher Charlie gave the phrases that students needed to use in the lesson.For example,for go to the bathroom, to listen, to stand up, etc...
Teacher Charlie started the lesson with a shoot game in which students had to shoot a family member that was paste on the board. He mentioned member by member and some of the students got points for their groups, but students had to said the name of the family member when they shoot one.

                       
   



   





                                             




Second, T. Charlie presented the vocabulary. Students did not use the structure that teacher taught before because behind the picture was the name of the picture that he showed students ,For that reason, students could answer the questions that teacher made. T. Guillermo asked students for the word parents, but he did not taught it before, and students could not answer him.











Third, Memory game activity, T. Charlie said to Gaby and Paolo to stand up and he used them to give real examples to the children. T. Guillermo asked students who wanted t play the memory game, students stand up, and they started to play the memory game. At the same time, Charlie was asking students for the vocabulary with some questions like Who is she?, Who is he? according with the family member .





Finally, T. Charlie could not play the audio because there was some problems with the CD-player, but he read the text for the students. T. Guillermo gave a worksheet activity , and T. Charlie gave the instructions. T. Charlie was saying sentence by sentence to gave students the chance to complete the worksheet. Teachers monitored the activity, and checked the answers. T. gave students the second activity that was circle the family member that the listened. T. performed the activity giving an example on the board, To conclude, T. Guillermo gave students a paper that said "This is my family" in which students had to draw their family. I think the class was interesting and in spite of they had problems with the audio; they could improvise with the listening activity.

Family Members

Topic: Family Members (Possessives)

To star with,teacher Gabriela gave the name tags.
Paolo started the lesson giving the instructions for the song activity that was paste on the board, and the students sang , and also made sentences with the vocabulary.
T. Paolo presented the grammar structure and he gave some examples.Then, he asked Charlie to match the appropriate possessive pronoun in the examples that teacher Gabriela wrote on the board.Before that, T, Paolo asked students if the exercises was right, and he gave us the pronunciation of every single sentence.

 




After, T. Paolo gave students a worksheet, and students complete it .T. Paolo checked the answers.
 





Moreover, Teacher Gabriela started the lesson giving pieces of paper to made pairs. She gave the instructions of the activity, and she asked students to ask their pair the question who is her? because he gave a flashcard to each group.Besides, he was changing the flashcards ,and the students were practicing the different possessives. She monitored the pairs asking for doubts and looking their work.









Besides, T. Gabriela asked for some volunteers to made a short conversation . They performed the conversations. After, she asked again for others volunteers that prepared a mini role play in front of the other classmates.




At the end, T. showed the flashcards and asked students to say the pronunciation. This lesson was meaningful to clarify the possesives, and the activities were appropriate to achieve the purpose of the objective.
